Golden Visa Portugal Legally Residing in Europe

 

The Golden Visa is an excellent opportunity for investors. This program offers a way to obtaining a residence permit with various investment options.

WHAT INVESTMENTS CAN I MAKE TO ACCESS THE GOLDEN VISA?

The Golden Visa allows non-European Union investors to obtain a residence permit in Portugal by making one of the following investments:

a) Investing in Job Creation:

Creation of at least 10 jobs;

b) Investing in Scientific Research:

Transfer of capital amounting to 500,000 euros or more, applied to research activities developed by public or private scientific research institutions;

c) Investing in Cultural Heritage and Artistic Production:

Transfer of capital amounting to 250,000 euros or more, applied to investment or support for artistic production, recovery, or maintenance of national cultural heritage.

d) Investing in Non-Real Estate Investment Funds:

Transfer of capital amounting to 500,000 euros or more, intended for the acquisition of shares in non-real estate investment funds, constituted under Portuguese law, with a minimum maturity of five years and with at least 60% of the investment value realized in commercial companies based in national territory.

e) Investing in the Incorporation of a Company in Portugal:

Transfer of capital amounting to 500,000 euros or more, intended for the establishment of a commercial company headquartered in national territory, along with the creation of five permanent jobs;

f) Investing in an Already Established Company in Portugal:

Strengthening the share capital of an already established commercial company, with the creation or maintenance of at least five permanent jobs for a minimum period of three years.

BENEFITS OF THE GOLDEN VISA

In addition to the possibility of residing in Portugal, the Golden Visa offers several advantages:

a) Mobility in the EU: Allows free travel within the Schengen Area.
b) Family Reunification: Includes spouse, minor children, and dependents.
c) Access to Health and Education: Access to the health and education systems in Portugal.
d) Possibility of Naturalization: After five years, it is possible to apply for Portuguese citizenship, subject to additional requirements.

REDUCTION OF INVESTMENT AMOUNTS

The minimum investment amounts can be reduced if the investment activity is carried out in low-density territories, defined by Ordinance No. 208/2017. These areas are characterized by a population density of less than 100 inhabitants per km² or a GDP per capita of less than 75% of the national average.
